Pickle Puss

Jasper Jingle is loosly based on the story of how our elf on a shelf came to live in our household.

As you can see from the sketches Jasper is not your typical shelf elf. He resembles a court jester more than a Christmas elf. After being bullied by the other shelf elfs in the store because of his disability of having two right hands, and his odd looks, he is tricked and sent back to the North Pole just before he is adopted by three children who grew fondly attached to him.

Will Jasper ever find happiness and the home of the children that love him?

Better yet, does he have strength and confidence to take this journey alone?

All I can say at this point is that he is not Santa Claus.

He is basically the alternate Santa, hence his name; Atnas Saulk. He lives in the coal mines and delivers coal to the good little girls and boys of the world, and brings the toys to the naughty ones. That is until something happens to him, and he has a change of heart.

If you like the Grinch or Ebenezer Scrooge, then you will be sure to enjoy the story of Atnas Saulk.

Not really much to say here.

I started to work on a character design for a possible client through ELANCE. He was looking for someone to illustrate a story that his Grandfather had created and redesign the main character; Pickle Puss.

Needless to say, I didn't get the comission, but I still loved the character and  had fun with the sketches.

I wonder how the book is coming along?

Dee Ward's Grapefruit

Book Status:

Story and Character developement.

Why in the world does a little old lady that lives alone in the woods travel to Florida each year, only to come back with a  station wagon full of Grapefruit?

Well, that's what all the townes folk want to know, and a couple of the kids in town are going to try and find out.

And boy are they surprised when they do.
